Can I use a riding mower engine, as an inboard engine to power my 16foot boat? - inboard boat diagram

"Where can I find a diagram of the propeller shaft and rudder?

I know this is done. But I have never seen how it was created. I have a Craftsman 15 hp engine with a vertical axis.

In short - no. You can get a mechanical device, but it will not work properly, it will not last, and very, very dangerous. Marine engines have several changes to prevent explosions ... as the gas vapors tend to accumulate in the hold and not disappated as they are in a car or lawn mower. Marine carburetors and fuel pumps are not designed for gas leaks when the inclination, or is there a gasket .. Mower Components do exactly the opposite. A craftsman engine will soon be a large piece of frozen rust, if installed on a ship. It would be better to use an outboard or inboard engine, to use small ones. Yanmar Diesel cyclinder would be perfect, eternal, and use about 1 / 4 petrol engine mower.

See a diagram of a propeller for the information from your computer. You can use a lot of room for it. appears to be a bad choice and can be dangerous as a fire hazard.putting a hole in the hull tree can be a problem. the engine is mounted at the proper angle to help fulfill them. Gas tank little good in May for 100 yards. Push the boat is not like mowing the lawn.

Or you could run the torque of the motor to the shaft and propeller. See attached image.

In any case, definitely not. They would by the police almost every time he came out and they find something to be arrested for dressing. Save yourself the trouble and get a speedboat.

See boats from Thailand and Vietnam, where the engines are on a turntable in the balance, imagine how your engine is equipped with air cooling, it would be the coolest and best striker.
